I was looking through the FAQ and found what they reccomend about bandwith....
"You can use several magicJacks with one connection. It depends on the total bandwidth provided by your internet connection. Each magicJack will use approximately 80 kbps of bandwidth during a call."

Works fine with 40kbps bandwidth in india, but i guess this is reccomended

From a CS call I recently read they are asking for 128kbps. I can't imagine what they need all that bandwidth for. Voice uses about 30kbps...what are they wanting the other 100kbps for? Maybe they consider it their "safety margin".

As I have stated in another post, my MJ calls use 83 kbps incoming and 75 kbps outgoing. This is the same on EVERY call I make. I monitor bandwidth with DuMeter, and I glance over at my laptop whenever I make a call.

It won't let me upload the image I have of bandwidth usage. All I get is a 404. Is uploading images broken?

These opinions are strictly my own. However, if you really want them, we can negotiate.

I would sure like to look at a call with a spectrum analyzer. Does anyone know if their are forward and or reverse overhead data streams going on during the call? Is there any buffering? Is all 80kbps give or take voice? Inquiring minds want to know.

I'm very close to what dbarber gets.

I get 85 kbps incoming and 78 kbps outgoing.

The DuMeter he mentioned is a nice utility if you want to check your own:
