Misleading area code info

I bought the magicjack (plus 5 year plan) based on a few things, including information on their site that says Los Angeles area codes 310 & 323 are available and active.
However, when setting up the unit, those area codes do not come up. Only codes are for areas outside of LA.
Live tech help was useless. They say they've run out of slots for those area codes - too bad.
Anyone have suggestions or similar problems / solutions?
